Jewel, oil on canvas, 24 x 30, 2015

This painting was inspired after a visit to New York City.  It's a first of a series that I have started.  This painting is a slow simmer with a humble quality that is reflected through the gray tones on the flat plane under the objects.  Why I named it Jewel?  After reading this visual poem the word Jewel just felt right.   After this painting several more have arrived.   The series are visual poems emerging from the creative process.
